Connect Hermes to Second Brain

Do these in order

1. In the Second Brain app press Add an AI. Name it, choose Hermes, press Continue, then press Copy the paragraph.
2. Open Finder. In the menu bar choose Go, then Go to Folder. Type ~/.hermes and press Enter.
3. Open the file SOUL.md in a text editor such as TextEdit. Go to the end of the file, press Enter twice and paste the paragraph. Save the file. Hermes reads SOUL.md at the start of every session, so you do this once.
4. Start a New session and give it a job. Hermes reads your Second Brain first and writes an entry when it finishes. The first time it can take up to 3 minutes and look stuck. Do not press stop.

3 things to try

• Hermes does nothing for more than 5 minutes: press stop, start a New session and give the job again.
• No entry appears: check the paragraph is at the end of SOUL.md and the file is saved. Hermes reads that file only when a session starts.
• Do not rely on an AGENTS.md file for Hermes. It did not read one in our test.
• Open the Health page in the app. It lists anything waiting or in conflict. Or email office@contigi.com: support is included for 12 months.
